SECOND ANNUAL CAR SHOW
The second annual Line Mountain Band car show is fast approaching. It will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011. Registration is from 9am-12pm. Judging will take place from 12-2pm. Trophy presentation is at 3pm. HELP IS NEEDED!!! Help will be needed the night before the car show to set up, as well as during the car show with registration, concessions, parking cars, and much more. PEPSI REFRESH PROJECT
We have applied for a 50k grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project to get new uniforms. The Pepsi Refresh Project funds the ideas of communities and organizations around the USA that need money. The way they determine who gets funded is through an online voting process in which the top 10 ideas in each category get funded by the end of June. Check out our webpage at http://www.refresheverything.com/linemountainband. Currently we are #6 out of 258 groups, so if voting ended today, we would get funded, but we need to finish in the top 10. We still have a long road ahead of us and we need as much help as we can with voting.
There are 3 different voting methods you can do every day:
*Voting method #1-Website. Visit www.refresheverything.com and register with a valid e-mail address. Take 1 of your 5 votes and vote for us on our page (http://www.refresheverything.com/linemountainband). If you want to use your other votes, we ask that you vote for other groups in the 25k, 10k & 5k ideas.
*Voting method #2-Facebook. Instead of logging in with your e-mail, you can log in with your facebook account. You get another 5 votes to use on 5 DIFFERENT ideas.
*Voting method #3-Texting. Text our group number (106939) to 73774.
After you exhaust those 3 methods, you can use up to 10 power votes a day. Power votes come in caps and in specially marked packages of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max.
We need all the help we can get, so please vote, vote, vote!!
CAR WASH TICKETS AVAILABLE
Car wash tickets for Ultimate Express Car Wash (across from Monroe Market Place, Shamokin Dam) are available for $6.00 each. This is a fund raiser for the general band account. Car Wash tickets would make great Father’s Day gifts, so buy some for your father, grandfather, husband, son, son-in-law, father-in-law,
etc. Or treat your own vehicle to a wash and get rid of the winter grime. Tell all your friends, neighbors, family members and co-workers that they are available through the band. Contact Ruby Shepley at 758-2120 or
